Being fans of all things Disney, I couldn’t resist recording
a new show on HGTV—My Yard Goes Disney, this past Monday evening. It was the premier of the new series. I started out watching the program by myself,
but was soon joined by the boy, who then summoned the husband and we ended up
watching together.
The premise is that a family, of Disney fans of course, is
chosen to have their backyard redone with some sort of Disney theme using
skills from the Disney Imagineers.
The premier included installing a child sized train and
track in the backyard. Yeah, that got
the boy’s attention!
The husband wanted to know how we could get chosen for the
show. I don’t know, was my reply.
The boy just wanted to know how to get the train in our
backyard. Again, I don’t know.
Some of the best parts of the show were clips of the family
enjoying a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort—which brought back memories
from our trips.
If you have seen an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, you’ll
enjoy My Yard Goes Disney. It’s half the
time—only 30 minutes—less if you have a DVR and no tears! Just smiles and wonder at the creativity the
Disney team demonstrates repeatedly.
