Exploring the New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom
was tops on our list during our summer 2013 trip. Part of the Enchanted Forest
area is Gaston’s Tavern, a great place to grab a snack.
We needed a mid-morning snack after being at Magic Kingdom
when it opened at 8:00 am for AM extra magic hours, and since we were in
Fantasyland, it made sense to give Gaston’s Tavern a try.
The boy wanted to dry LeFou’s Brew, which is a dense cold
apple cider tasting drink with mango and passion fruit mixed in. The boy liked it and so did I. The texture is not as thick as a smoothie but
not as thin as apple cider. The boy and
I also shared a huge cinnamon roll. I
understand that these are the same ones that used to be sold at the Main Street
Bakery and can now only be found at Gaston’s Tavern. The husband had a chocolate croissant as it
was visible in the case, but he was eying our cinnamon roll that we ordered
sight unseen.
There were plenty of tables inside the tavern which is very
well themed. We, however, had heard that
Gaston might be greeting guests, so after eating, we took our drinks outside to
wait for Gaston.
Gaston did appear to greet guests between the tavern and the
little shop across from his tavern.
While we were at Gaston’s Tavern in the morning and were
specifically looking for a mid-morning snack, know that Gaston’s also serves
pork shanks, vegetable cups, and hummus with chips.
Gaston’s Tavern is said to be a party of the Enchanted Forest area of the New Fantasyland, and
I am sure it will be when the area is finished with construction. When we were there, there was no “forest” per
say. And, we would definitely return for
the giant cinnamon roll and of course, LeFou’s Brew!
