Holiday music, millions of
dancing lights, snow, and 72 hidden Mickey’s.
What could it be? The Osborne
Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, of course!
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is literally
turned on for guests Mid-November through early January, usually around 6:00 pm
each evening, on the Streets of America at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This year was our third year being graced by
the lights and snow.
We love being there at the moment the lights are turned on—it
is really a spectacle as the name implies.
Then, we walk from one end of Streets of America to the other admiring
the displays and getting our picture taken by the Photopass photographers. This year, there were four photographers set
up in various locations.

Photopass Photographer #2--at the far end of the dancing lights tunnel |
Photopass Photographer #3--near the switch and giant tree |
Photopass Photographer #4--At the opposite end of Streets of America |
The photographers pause during the “dancing” portions, but
that is okay. Who minds waiting when
surrounded by millions of dancing lights and music?
We captured video of the boy dancing along when we were
waiting to have our pictures taken while the lights were dancing. Check it out:
Guest traffic is well controlled and guest can only enter
the Streets of America to see the lights from the far end or near Lights,
Motors, Action. So, if you are coming
from anywhere else in Hollywood Studios to see the lights, know that your route
may be redirected, especially of the lights are already on. We were at the far end prior to the lights
being turned on so had no issues with being redirected.
A Cast Member told us there were 72 hidden Mickey’s in the
light display. We found several—10 or
so, but not all 72. Next time!
Experiencing The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a great way to boost your holiday spirit.
