Dining at Restaurant Marrakesh in EPCOT's World Showcase

Morocco is one of eleven countries in EPCOT’s World Showcase.  And, in our continued quest to dine around the “world” we dined at Restaurant Marrakesh, a table service restaurant, in the Morocco Pavilion on our most recent trip to the Walt Disney World Resort.

The Morocco Pavilion is a bit exotic.  We have been to the pavilion several times to greet characters—Princess Jasmine and Aladdin.  And, we were able to meet them again this trip, just before checking in for our ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation) for dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh.

We meandered the path to get to Restaurant Marrakesh, which is located in the far back of the pavilion.  The Moroccan theme continued once inside this sparsely decorated restaurant.  It was almost like you were suddenly a sheik finding a place to rest your camel in the African desert and enjoy a nice meal and entertainment.

Speaking of entertainment, live musicians play throughout the evening and a modest belly dancer also entertained guests.  Caution:  There’s audience participation if you are up for it!  It’s especially fun for the kids.

Dining at Restaurant Marrakesh is more for adventurous diners.  The boy ordered a past dish from the children’s menu, but didn’t eat much of it.  The husband had a couscous dish and I ordered a chicken kabob.  The boy tried from both our dishes and the husband and I traded bites so we could get a taste of everything.

Dessert was good and plentiful!

The service was attentive and just the right speed.  I kept running out of water and the refills were slower than I would have liked.  (Imagine again you are dining in the middle of the Moroccan desert.)

Even going to the bathroom was an experience, as the Moroccan themed continued in the tile and art work. It was a feast for the eyes.

We are glad we tired Restaurant Marrakesh.  In terms of comparing the meal to others we’ve had in World Showcase it ranks lower than most.  It will be a while before we come back.  You’re experience may vary!
