Block Party Bash at Disney Hollywood Studios

The Block Party Bash at Disney Hollywood Studios is a cross between a parade, a street party, and a high energy Broadway production.

Daily at 3:00 pm, the curious floats/vehicles make their way down Hollywood Boulevard and then stop for the 10-15 minute show.

The vehicles open up to review scooters, trampolines, jump ropes, and 2 feet tall shoes that allow the wearer to jump. . . high!

The music revs up and there is dancing in the streets! The audience is invited to join and dance at one point.

The Bash is organized by various Disney/Pixar themes such as The Incredibles, Monster’s Inc., Toy Story, and a Bug’s Life. The costumes coincide with the theme of that portion of the Bash.

When the Bash is over, the cast members pack up the “toys” and move the Block Party Bash through the hub into the Echo Lake area for another performance. So, if you miss the 3:00 version, head over to Echo Lake for the next performance.

Typically Streetmosphere performers are on hand before the Bash interacting with guests. While the Block Party Bash is not technically a parade, as in the Magic Kingdom sense of a parade, it is important to stake out your spot early. Usually 15-20 minutes early is enough.

Interestingly, we have seen the Block Party Bash each visit since it began. Compare this to seeing Mickey’s Jungle Jammin’ Parade in Animal Kingdom once and Spectromagic twice. I have to think about why. . . Well, it is relatively short in comparison to the before mentioned parades. Also, it is daily (ok, so is Mickey’s Jungle Jammin’ Parade). Some people don’t know what it is, therefore, there is less of a crowd. We plan around the Bash. . . “We’ll get a bus to Fort Wilderness after the Bash” or “Let’s head to Animation after the Bash” or “the playground is next, after the Bash.” Typically, we can get a lot in at Studios by 3:00 pm, so it fits in our touring to take in the Block Party Bash and then decide what we are going to do next. We LIKE it!
