Disney Cruise Line Announces Itineraries for the Remainder of 2014

Disney Wonder—The Wonder will return to Alaska for the Summer of 2014 sailing out of Vancouver.  Most sailings will be 7 night with one special 9 night sailing adding a stop in Sitka, Alaska.  After cruising through the Panamal Canal, it is back to Port Canveral offering some short cruises to the Bahamas and then it is off to dry dock for either part of the year or the rest of the year.  The Wonder’s itineraries are public through mid-October 2014.

Disney Magic—The Magic is sailing to Europe for the Summer of 2014 offering transatlantic voyages both directions.  She will be making Barcelona, Spain, and Venice, Italy her home port and offering sailings to Greece.  San Juan, Puerto Rico will be the home port for the Magic in the fall with 7 night Southern Caribbean cruises on the docket with stops in Grenada, Aruba, Barbados, St. Kitts, and St. Lucia.  Late October, the Magic will make Miami, Florida her home port featuring 4 night sailings to the Bahamas and 5 night Western Caribbean itineraries.

Disney Dream—The Dream will continue to alternate 3 and 4 night itineraries to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral.

Disney Fantasy—The Fantasy will continue to offer 7 night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral.

What does all of this mean?  Well, it means that Disney cruiser, both prospective and seasoned, get several itineraries to choose from and a variety of port.  There is also an international flavor to the home ports with Vancouver, San Juan, Barcelona, and Venice being home ports to various ships for 2014 which may spur more international travelers to choose Disney Cruise Line.  Missing are U.S. ports such as Los Angeles, New York and Galveston, but Miami is will get to host a Disney ship in 2014.  Hawaii is noticeably off the list for 2014 as well.

As a seasoned Disney Cruiser with a sailing already reserved for 2014, we had the opportunity to reserve a spot on the new itineraries a day prior to the general public.  Our notification came via email.  Also, we have decided as a family that once we sail on the Fantasy, the only Disney ship we haven’t sailed on, we will then begin to select cruises for their destinations so we are happy to see a variety of destinations being offered by Disney Cruise Line and hope that continues well into the future.

  1. You should really do the Alaskan cruise. One of our favorites (though we did it before Disney started...) it's just beautiful! Plus, Vancouver is a pretty awesome city ;)
