Disney Phone A Friend

In addition to the regular text messages and phone calls coming through my cell phone, I have been receiving text messages. . . or text questions from friends at Disney.  I enjoy hearing from them as I think of them often and hope they are having a great time.  Each time a question comes through, I can’t help but think of the “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?” game and that I am their “phone a friend” lifeline.

Happy to help!  The first questions were about Fastpasses.  When to get them?  When can you get another one?  Does getting Fastpasses to meet the characters in Town Square Theater prohibit you from getting another set of Fastpasses?  While Fastpass is easy to use, it can be complex to explain and even more so via text message.  Yeah, think about it.  Could you explain in 160 key strokes or less?

The answers must have helped as the next question was about meeting specific Disney characters—Phineas and Ferb.  This lovable and clever pair can be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which is what the texters thought, but wanted to be sure.  Yep, they can only be found at Hollywood Studios.

When I get a message, I imagine where they might be and what they might be doing when the message was sent.  For example, one of the questions about Fastpass came to my phone at 7:50 am Central Time.  I imagined them already at the Magic Kingdom, standing just inside the gates, waiting for the opening ceremony and the park to open, while discussing their strategy once the park opened.  The conversation lead to a dilemma and the answer would change their touring strategy.  I replied right away.

In our delightful age of technology, news and information flies fast.  And, that very same technology can keep us connected.  The past couple of days, it has transported me to Walt Disney World, just for a brief moment, but a delightful moment.  So, keep the text messages coming!

  1. Thank you my text a friend!! We worked so many of the Williams' family tips including --having a plan, working the fast passes, and never saying no to a cast member. Will and I found ourselves in a Phinneus and Ferb skit! I even felt confident enough on this visit to leave Baby Rich at the condo with dad one evening and venture out just with my older son. It was very exciting to be able to navigate on my own! Plus I knew I had you in my pocket!
