Ready To Make The Call?

Do you recognize where this photo was taken?  If you said the United Kingdom Pavilion at EPCOT at Walt Disney World, you would be correct.  The red booth surely gives it away. 

There are actually three such booths in the United Kingdom Pavilion.  Two across from the Rose & Crown and near the bathroom entrance and the other near the bridge to France.

On our most recent trip to Walt Disney World, we decided to have a little fun, well, I decided to have a little fun and surprise the husband at the same time.

You see, while he was posing for this photo, I took out my cell phone and called the phone inside the phone booth.  Yep!  I had the numbers for all the phone booths in the United Kingdom programmed into my phone. 

The number for the phone booth the husband was in:  407-827-9862.  The booth to the right of this one is:  407-827-9861.  And the both on the other side of the pavilion:  407-827-9863.

Seriously!  I called the phone and the husband picked up very surprised that I was talking to him.  The boy got into the act, too.  Later that evening, as we were waiting for our waterside table at Rose & Crown, we watched other guests enter the phone booth –for photos of course--and then called them up.  Mostly, they hung up.  We could see them but they didn’t know it was us making the calls.  I know, immature and very “seventh grade” and yet it was still fun.  We even tried a British accent when making the calls and it made our wait go by quite quickly.

So, the next time you find yourself posing in the famous red phone booths at the United Kingdom Pavilion, give yourself or the people you are with a call!
