Dining With Remy At Les Chefs de France

Les Chefs de France is a table service restaurant located in the France Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase at the Walt Disney World Resort.  We have now eaten there twice, as we missed Remy, otherwise known as The Chef, during our first visit.

This brightly lit restaurant gives diners an opportunity to watch other guests stroll by outside as well as catch Serveur Amusant outside perform a juggling and balancing act.

When we took our seats, we had already checked to see if The Chef was in and we were given an affirmative response.

After ordering drinks, a warm baguette was delivered to our table along with butter.  We each tore off pieces to nibble on before our soup and salads arrived.

The boy ordered pasta, chicken, and a salad.  The pasta sauce comes on the side and the salad is a mixture of leafy lettuces, so be prepared if your child only likes green lettuce.  Both the husband and I ordered off the Prix Fixe which includes various choices for courses with a fixed price.  I had the lobster bisque followed by quiche and salad.  The husband also ordered the lobster bisque—I was hoping he would order the French Onion soup and we could share, a ham and cheese sandwich which was much fancier than it sounds along with a salad.  We both had the Crème brûlée for dessert which was one of our top desserts for the entire trip.  The boy had an ice cream sundae.

The highlight of the meal was seeing and interacting with Remy.  Check out the video:

We got a sneak peek as to how Remy comes to life.  Potential Spoiler Ahead—Don’t Read If You Don’t Want To Know--The power is in the handle of the lid of the serving tray.  If you look closely, it resembles a Wii remote and operates similarly when the “handler” has the lid in his hand and down to the side out of guests’ view.

Our visit to Les Chefs de France for lunch was delightful.  We have now eaten both lunch and dinner and can say that both menus offer great offerings, though lunch is a bit lighter.  Click here to read about our other visit toLes Chefs de France.

We would return in a heartbeat or a squeak of a mouse!
