A Cast Party, Soccer, and a Rock Show, Oh My!

What a great week-end! Rain on Friday evening didn’t dampen the spirits of those attending the cast party for OCCP’s Wizard of Oz. Every family brought a dish to share while BBQ pork and cake were provided. Check out the cakes!

The tables were decorated with candles and a bit of “yellow brick road.” The kids had a great time and we were able to say good-bye until the next show.

Saturday brought soccer—two games back to back. The boy played defender or goalie and center forward. While scoring, at least for our team, was a total of 2 goals for both games, spirits were high.

On Sunday we checked out the rock show at the Fairfield Convention Center, just 2 blocks north of the square.

There were lots of displays of rocks, gems, and minerals. For one game, you pushed the button and the dump truck went into the “mine.” When the dump truck returned, you dumped the rocks into the bucket, took the bucket and dumped it into a box, then sifted for your gems. We came home with a baggie of lovely rocks.

The boy also made a necklace with beads and an arrowhead. It was a cool event!
