The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

I know, it's June, so how could I be writing about The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights? Easy! If you aren't already convinced to visit the Walt Disney World Resort at or near the holiday season, then I have one more reason that might convince you.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is on display nightly at Disney Hollywood Studios on the Streets of America. The lights come on around 6:00 pm with a special lighting ceremony. After that, the lights are on until the park closes. Admiring the lights is included with your admission. Every 10 minutes or so, the lights go off and then jump back to life and dance with the music. This fantastic sight is topped off with snowfall.

Guests linger to watch the lights and often sing along with the holiday songs. Photopass photographers are on location to capture your photos. If the lights are "dancing" you will have to wait a bit for your photo to be taken. It is worth the wait! Click here to read more about Disney's Photopass service.

The occasion is like a giant street party and anywhere there is an excellent view. It is neat to walk up and down the street to get the full effect. The lights start being installed in September and get turned on early to mid November. We were there on November 14, 2009, when the above photos were taken.
