'OHANA'S

"Hello, Cousins!" That is how you will be greeted when eating at Disney's 'OHANA restaurant in Disney's Polynesian Resort, as 'OHANA means family. And just like Chef Mickey's, getting there is half the fun! By Monorail! Click here to read more about Chef Mickey's.

'OHANA'S is located on the 2nd floor of the grand ceremonial at the Polynesian. . . Poly for short when you are at the "World." Upon exiting the Monorail, proceed across the walk-way, enter the Poly (you'll be on the 2nd floor) and go left around the atrium until you get to the 'OHANA check in desk. Bathrooms from the check in desk are right behind you. . . turn around, go down the hall and the bathrooms are on the left.

'OHANA's serves breakfast and dinner daily and we have enjoyed both . . . regularly. Actually, dinner at 'OHANA's is one of our family's favorites. The husband enjoys the 2 feet long skewers of meat (steak, pork, turkey, and shrimp) that are brought to your table and you just say how many pieces you want on your plate. The boy likes the food, but loves the coconut races, doing the limbo, practicing the hula, and parading around the restaurant with maracas to music played by the roaming guitarist/instructor/and host. I really like the dumplings and pomegranate lemonade. The meals at 'OHANA are served family style, with dishes, like salads, coming to your table in a bowl then your family can serve yourselves portions on plates. The staff is fast and friendly, the food delicious and filling, and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. "Hello, Cousins!"

Breakfast at 'OHANA's is a character meal with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. See photos below. The breakfast begins with your family taking a photo which can be purchased later in the meal if you like, and if purchased can be added to your PHOTOPASS account. (click here to read more about Disney's PHOTOPASS)

On the way to your table you will pick up a basket of sweet bread then once at your table, drink orders are taken (I highly recommend the mango juice), a fruit plate is left on your table, and then the large skillet of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and potato wedges comes your way. Your family can then serve the portions. The best part, in my opinion, is when the Mickey waffles come via basket to your table. A server will place the Mickey waffles on your plate. Then while you are eating, the characters begin to mingle and visit. Have your cameras and autograph books ready!

'OHANA's is great fun both at breakfast and dinner. Our last time at the Walt Disney World Resort we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Since breakfast can be quite early, we were on a Disney bus at 6:30 and the driver asked where we were headed. "The Poly," I told him, and he dropped us off right there. We anticipated a drop off at the Magic Kingdom with a monorail ride to the Poly, but bus to door service was even better. Disney Magic at work!
